NEMA HID Lamp Indexes Decline Second Quarter 2017

NEMA’s shipment index for high intensity discharge (HID) lamps post a decline in shipments in 2Q 2017 compared to 2Q 2016 with mercury vapor posting a 13.9 percent decline, metal halide a 23.9 percent decline, and sodium vapor a 9.3 percent decline. Quarter-over-quarter results also declined with metal halide declining 14.8 percent and sodium vapor and mercury vapor posting decreases of 2.8 percent and 6.8 percent, respectively, in 2Q 2017 compared to 1Q 2017. Metal halide lamps accounted for 58.8 percent of the HID market in 2Q 2017, while sodium vapor and mercury vapor account for 37.1 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively. https://www.nema.org/
