Thanks to all who participated in the 18th Annual U.S. Department of Energy Lighting R&D Workshop, co-sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society. From February 1-4, 2021, top lighting scientists and industry leaders shared progress, challenges, ideas, and solutions to shape the future of lighting. The virtual format allowed for a wider cross-section of participants, and the gathering of nearly 900 workshop attendees reflected a depth of knowledge and expertise that resulted in dynamic discussions, fresh perspectives, and valuable input.
